The world is impatiently waiting for the highly anticipated Travis Scott x fragment design x Nike Air Jordan 1 High to finally release. However, it now seems that an even older leaked colourway of the hyped silhouette might drop even earlier. Over a year ago, speculations about the second colourway of Travis' take on the AJ1 High emerged, with rumours pointing towards the classic Chicago colourway to be used.
Finally, we have gotten a close-up image of what appears to be this exact sneaker. Founder of American design venture RHUDE, Rhuigi Villasenor, uploaded a video on his Instagram account, showcasing the Jordan 1 Chicago on feet β with the characteristic Travis Scott reversed swoosh!

Social media was instantly flooded with reposts and speculative release details, but no official statement by Scott or Nike has been released thus far. While this might be the first confirmation of the sneakerβs actual existence, this does not imply a wider release in any manner. In fact, there are probably more friends & family versions of Travis Scott collaborations than actual released versions. We are still waiting for the SB Dunk 2.0, the purple and olive Air Jordan 4βs, of course the fragments. Who knows, maybe La Flame might decide to keep these unreleased for himself and those close to him!
That being said, if the sneaker did see a wider release, it would certainly shatter all records. The first Jordan 1 High was already an unprecedented success, the Air Jordan 6Β went crazy, the SB Dunk topped it even more, but a Chicago Air Jordan 1 β combined with a Cactus Jack collabβ¦ weβd need an indestructible roof to avoid these prices going into orbit.
All Chicago colourways are instant guarantees for hype, the classic colourway will remain the all-time favourite. Even more, Travisβ name on a sneaker just extrapolates the hype beyond anything imaginable. Add the signature reverse-swoosh and you have a contender for mostΒ sought-afterΒ sneaker of the year!Β Hype will be Highest in the Room.
Weβll have to wait and see what Travis has in store for us this year, but letβs keep our fingers crossed that weβll at least get the chance to try and cop a pair! Until then, check out some of the other Travis Scott x Nike collabs on Drip Drops here!
